In 1972, it was approved to change the Traditional Chinese Medicine program from a 6-year to a 7-year program, granting graduates the degree of Bachelor of Medicine. Quetzal Hospital of Germany

Quetzal Hospital is not only a physical carrier for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to go global, but also a successful model integrating institutional innovation, cultural adaptation, and efficacy verification. Over 34 years of practice, it has proven that TCM can achieve legalization (government approval), insurance coverage (medical insurance payment), inpatient treatment (comprehensive therapy), and academic integration (collaboration with universities) within Western mainstream healthcare systems. Its experience has been hailed by the Chinese Consulate General in Munich as a 'paradigm of TCM going global' and is being explored for promotion to other European countries. Current challenges mainly include significant expansion pressure and the fact that local cultivation of medicinal materials is still in the experimental stage (11 types such as Angelica sinensis and Astragalus have been successfully cultivated).
